A2: What is the foundation's missions? The foundation's mission is to provide advanced veterinary dental services for the benefit of captive animals located in facilities in the US and abroad. This is achieved in two ways: awarding working grant money to individuals and/or organizations which directly improve the oral health of captive animals. Please see our Grants page for more information.

The second way is by conduction missions to sanctuaries and lesser zoos that are understaffed and/or underfunded from a veterinary perspective. For more detail on this mission, please visit the Tuition for Missions page.

A5: How many grants have been awarded? Grants have been awarded since 2005. In 2005, 2006, and 2007, the foundation awarded (3) $5,000 grants annually. In 2008, the foundation revised its grant policy to (1) $10,000 grant. The reasoning was that more could be accomplished by applicants/winners with a two-times larger award, as well as to allow allocation of foundation funds toward its new Tuition for Mission program. See our Grants page for more information.
