BIG CATS OF SERENITY SPRINGS CALHAN CO
Rescue Op: August 2010
PEIVDF provides their expert services - and the supplies required in the provision of these service - directly to the animals. That way, PEIVDF's efforts directly benefit each animal on which we work. Facilities as a whole do not receive direct monetary benefit from the provision of PEIVDF services.
PEIVDF recently visited a new rescue op facility - Big Cats of Serenity Springs, located in Calhan, CO (just to the East of Colorado Springs).
A team of twelve PEIVDF rescue op instructors, workers, and volunteers provided life-improving veterinary dental care to six residents of the sanctuary. Four veterinarians, one dentist, and one veterinarian joined PEIVDF instructors and board members on this rescue op. Three of the six were PEIVDF Rescue Op alumni, with three joining us for the first time.
The principal issues faced on the six cases were broken canines and incisors, having occurred as a result of their captivity prior to their arrival at Serenity Springs. The six patients included white tigers, Bengal tigers, a leopard, and a male African lion.
We thank Big Cats of Serenity Springs for inviting PEIVDF down to provide veterinary dental care for their animals. Please click HERE to be taken to their website to learn more about the work they do.
